Bread Rolls

Bread roll is a popular snack in Indian household. It's made with boiled vegetables and bread. I saw my mom to fill in the ready mixture (of boiled mixed vegetables or sometimes only boiled potatoes) in a wet bread slice and then shape it into "small rollers". Whenever I tried my hands, the bread rolls invariable burst into oil, thus spoiling the rolls and the frying oil. This needs expert handling .  I was and am not an expert cook.

I devised another easy way out  without compromising on taste.


  • I crushed the bread slices in a mixer and then mix it with boiled mashed vegetables. If bread is not available, poha can also be used. Bread or poha work as binders.

  •  Add masalas like salt, chillies, garam masala, amchoor, green chillies, grated ginger and garlic to the mixture of boiled vegetables and crushed bread.



  • Taste the ready mix.
  • Take mixture of a lemon's size and shape it as per your choice. Heat oil and fry them till golden brown.



  • Serve with any chutney (s) of your choice.
