Aloo ka Chilla ( Potato Savoury Pancake)

Chilla is the Indian version of pancakes. Moong dal chilla, besan (chickpea chilla) or sweet chilla made from wheat flour or all purpose flour are my family's favourite snack. I serve them with different fillings like paneer bhurji, masala noodles, manchurian balls, mixed vegetables or simple spicy potato fillings or sometimes plain chilla with chutneys.

Potato chilla can be served on a fast and is very tasty. My friend Neelam Gupta had shared this recipe with me.

Ingredients:
1. One grated medium sized potato.
2.Coriander leaves and 1 small green chili, finely chopped.
3. Salt to taste.

Method:

  1. Mix all the ingredients to a smooth dough.
  2. Take a ball of the dough.
  3. Spread it on an oiled non-sticking griddle, in circular shape with a girdle.
  4. Cook on slow fire for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Once cooked, turn and cook the other side.
  6. Serve hot with green chutney and curd.
  7. It's a great variant for a fasting meal .
I could not click the picture as at that time, there was sudden power cut. :(
